Duties:
- Manage a broad spectrum of civil litigation cases from inception through resolution, including court depositions, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and statutory interpretations.
- Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.
- Prepare clients for depositions, court appearances, and mediations by providing expert guidance on procedural law and case management.
- Advocate vigorously in court proceedings across various jurisdictions while maintaining professionalism and adherence to procedural rules.
- Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients while upholding ethical standards.
- Maintain meticulous case files and manage deadlines using effective legal case management systems to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of civil litigation procedures along with specialized areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, employment law, and personal injury law.
- Proven experience in legal research utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms to support case development.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients during settlement discussions or trial proceedings.
- Excellent legal writing skills for drafting motions, pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents with clarity and precision.
- Proficiency in legal motion preparation, trial preparation techniques, and courtroom advocacy.
- Familiarity with procedural law knowledge essential for managing complex litigation workflows efficiently.
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients regarding case status and legal options while maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience in handling court depositions and conducting comprehensive personal injury case evaluations.
- Strong research skills coupled with the ability to interpret statutory laws relevant to diverse practice areas.
- Demonstrated competence in legal administrative tasks including case management software use and documentation organization.
