State Fund's Subrogation Legal Department is looking for a motivated Attorney to champion our recovery efforts and represent us in complex workers' compensation subrogation cases. This is your opportunity to work on meaningful cases that influence business outcomes and protect California's workforce.

What You'll Do:
- Manage a caseload of 30–50 subrogation matters.
- Conduct research, draft pleadings and briefs, and deliver clear legal opinions.
- Represent State Fund in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Advise internal departments on subrogation issues and support key projects.

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract.
