Job Description and Duties:Under direction provided by the Chief Counsel (Exempt), the incumbent will perform the less complex legal work associated with oversight of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). In addition, the incumbent will represent the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in litigated matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, advise the OIG on internal personnel issues, evaluate whistleblower retaliation claims received by the OIG and make recommendations regarding review of those claims, respond to information and Public Records Act requests, and federal and state records subpoenas received by the OIG, and perform special projects assigned by the Inspector General, Chief Deputy Inspector General, or Chief Counsel.
