Description:
Stark & Stark has a full-time opening for a Litigation Associate within our Nursing Home Negligence group, in our Hamilton, New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have excellent legal research and writing skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and be self-directed and detail oriented. Candidates must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will have an extraordinary opportunity to continue their professional development in a challenging but collegial environment and learn a niche practice area.
This position is ideal for an associate who is highly motivated, detail oriented, hardworking, and eager to develop into a trial lawyer. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, develop their skills, and is committed to mastering both the written and oral advocacy.
Responsibilities:
The position will support and assist a team in litigating nursing home negligence cases and growing the practice. Must have experience handling a high-volume caseload in a fast paced, results oriented environment with limited oversight. The role is an opportunity to evaluate the merits of individual claims, work directly with clients handling depositions, drafting and responding to pleadings and discovery, as well as writing and researching legal issues for briefs and pleadings. The position also entails reviewing medical records and discovery.

Qualifications:
- Three to Five years of litigation experience is required.
- Plaintiff's Nursing Home or Medical Malpractice experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, drafting, writing, research, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline driven practice is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team, with strong integrity and professionalism is required.
- Exercise judgment and the ability to work autonomously to effectively analyze the merit of a claim.
- Must have experience in and be able to effectively negotiate, settle, litigate, and try cases.
- Judicial Clerkship is a plus.
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey.
