This Position Is with Support Enforcement Services State and District Offices. the Incumbent for This Position Performs Highly Responsible Duties Impacting Support Cases with The Non-Custodial and Custodial Parents as It Relates to Established Visitation.

Appointment Type: This Position May Be Filled as A Probational Appointment or A Job Appointment that May Last up To 48 Months. Job Appointments May Convert to Probational Appointments. Also, It May Be Filled as A Detail and Promoted Within 12 Months or By Promotion of A Permanent Classified Employee.
Work Schedule: Typically, Work Hours Are 8:00 Am to 4:30 Pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible Work Schedules Are Available After Meeting Certain Criteria and Is Dependent upon The Position You Are Applying For. Some Positions Require Working Shifts.
Work Location: Orleans Parish
Career Progression: May Be Filled as An Attorney 1-3 Depending on Qualifications.
Compensation: Special Entrance Rates Have Been Established for Attorney Job Titles. the Referenced Positions Are Also Eligible for Premium Pay of Up to $2.00 per Hour for Hours Work Based on Specific Criteria.

Job Duties:
- Prepares and Tries Civil Suits in Courts of Primary Jurisdiction and In Appellate Courts Involving Issues to Establish Visitation Cases Where the Agency Was Unsuccessful in Obtaining Consent Judgement.
- Interview Non-Custodial Parents and Custodial Parents in Order to Devise a Visitation Judgment/plan.
- Prepares Judgments, Memorandums and Correspondence on Legal Matters and Maintains Records with Regards to The Actions Taken.
- Provides Legal Analysis and Interpretation of State and Federal Statues, Rules, and Regulations to Ensure Agency Compliance.
- Conducts Research Into the Services Available in The Region to Assists the Parents and Establish and Maintain Good Working Relationships with These Service Providers.
- Establishes Good Working Relationships with The Support Enforcement Services Staff, the District Attorney's Staff, the Judiciary, Court Personnel, Clerks of Court, Area-Wide Officials, and Law Enforcement Officers.
- Serves as Legal Counsel to Child Support Enforcement Services on General Questions of Law as It Relates to Visitation Matters.
