The Opportunity:Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP is seeking an accomplished senior attorney with extensive creditors' rights, bankruptcy and commercial lending experience to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will bring a strong creditors' rights background and have the ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions and matters. Commercial lending experience is preferred. Your Role:
As a Member of the Financial Services Group, you will:
- Practice Leadership & Client Service
- Lead workout negotiations, restructurings, foreclosures, asset dispositions, and other enforcement actions with direct client contact and strategy ownership.
- Represent secured lenders and/or other creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, including DIP financing and cash collateral use, plans of reorganization, 363 sales and other asset dispositions.
- Serve as counsel to institutional and commercial clients in complex commercial lending transactions, from due diligence through closing and ongoing compliance, including in asset-based lending, real estate, commercial and industrial and equipment financing transactions.
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on loan documentation, security agreements, and collateral arrangements.
- Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals on legal strategy, case management, and technical expertise in creditors' rights and bankruptcy proceedings.
- Collaborate with other Team members to develop and implement comprehensive client solutions.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York Bar
- 6+ years of relevant creditors' rights, bankruptcy and commercial lending experience
- Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail are required
- Strong ability to manage multiple matters and priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
