Job Summary:
Kutak Rock LLP seeks an associate attorney to join its Public Finance practice in its Omaha office. Ideal candidates will have an interest in developing their knowledge and skills in a wide range of transactional matters involving municipal securities for state and local governments, housing developers, nonprofit organizations and other permitted borrowers. Qualified candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in public finance, real estate, lending, corporate finance or other transactional areas are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
An associate in the Public Finance department will work with partners, associates, staff and clients throughout the country in a busy practice involving a wide range of types of transactions and projects, including:
  • Researching federal and state law, including local bond and real estate law, federal and state securities laws, and the Internal Revenue Code
  • Preparing and reviewing transaction documents, including trust indentures, bond ordinances and resolutions, loan agreements, closing documents and opinions
  • Preparing and reviewing underwriting documents, including offering documents, purchase agreements and disclosure certificates
  • Interacting and communicating with clients and other transaction parties

Qualifications: Education and Experience
  • Currently admitted to practice in Nebraska with an active bar license in good standing or able to be admitted within one year
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public finance, real estate, lending, corporate finance or other transactional areas
  • Strong academic record
