The mission of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law is to prepare, challenge, and inspire our students to make a difference in the world while we advance important ideas through the legal academy, the profession and society – making an impact of our own. Since 1970, Hofstra Law has provided more than 14,000 students with an education rich in both the theory and experiential skills needed to produce outstanding lawyers, business executives, and community leaders.

The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University is pleased to invite applications from entry-level and lateral candidates to begin in Fall 2027. We seek candidates with a strong record of significant scholarship or who show promise for scholarly achievement. Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and institutional service and bring diverse experiences and perspectives to enrich our law school community. We are seeking candidates across all subject areas, with particular interest in candidates with research and teaching interests in Intellectual Property, Torts, or Property.

The Associate Professor of Law or Professor of Law will be responsible for the following, including but not limited to:
  • Teaching substantive courses in agreed-upon doctrinal areas
  • Research, publishing and contributing to the legal scholarly community
  • Participating in law school and university events and committees to create a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:
A J.D. degree or the equivalent.
