Established Chicago Personal Injury Law Firm, Cary J. Wintroub & Associates, is seeking an associate attorney to join our team. We are committed to fighting for injured clients across Illinois. Our firm handles all sorts of cases, from motor vehicle accidents and slip-and-falls to catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases— and we take every one of them seriously. We are looking for a driven associate who wants real courtroom experience, genuine mentorship, and the satisfaction of making a difference for clients every day.You will serve as a full-service litigator on a varied personal injury docket — taking cases from intake through resolution or verdict. This is a hands-on position with direct client contact and real courtroom responsibility from day one.
What You'll Do:
- Manage an active caseload of personal injury matters;
- Conduct depositions, argue motions, and appear in court for hearings and trials
- Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, and demand packages
- Investigate facts, retain experts, and develop litigation strategy
- Communicate with clients, keeping them informed and supported throughout their case
- Negotiate settlements and evaluate case value with senior attorneys
What We're Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission;
- 2-5 years of personal injury litigation experience (plaintiff-side preferred)
- Trial experience — hearings, motions, depositions, or verdicts preferred
- Ability to manage a large caseload independently and meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, in-office team environment
