Kutak Rock LLP seeks an Associate Attorney for its litigation practice in its Kansas City office. This dynamic role is ideal for the candidate with two to three years of civil litigation experience who is interested in continuing to develop their knowledge and skills in insurance coverage analysis and litigation while working closely with partners, associates, and clients in a busy national litigation practice.

Qualifications: Skills and Abilities
- Ability to and willingness to learn to handle all aspects of complex civil litigation matters, including client communications, motions, discovery responses, court appearances, mediations, and negotiating settlements
- Some experience in taking and defending depositions, as well as drafting dispositive motions
- Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and drive to help shape and expand a growing practice
- Ability and willingness to manage and respond to rapid deadlines and immediate client needs
- Ability and confidence to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to be mentored and taught remotely by attorneys in other offices
- Commitment to interacting directly with and achieving the goals of firm clients
Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Currently admitted to practice in Missouri or Kansas or be willing to be admitted in both states within the first year of employment. Active bar license(s) must be and remain in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation matters, with experience in insurance or commercial litigation matters preferred
- Preference will be given to those with strong academic credentials, a judicial clerkship, law review experience, and/or a demonstrated ability to play a substantive, supportive role in all aspects of complex litigation
Position Information:
- Status: Exempt
- Salary Range: $135,000-$155,000 base salary per year, commensurate with education and experience
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with supervising attorney approval
