Position Summary:We're seeking an Associate Litigation Counsel to join our growing team.
Reporting to our Legal Head, Marketing & Operations, the individual selected for this Associate Litigation Counsel role will work closely with numerous internal stakeholders and field operators to assess risk and defend the company in various disputes, whether informal or formal. The Legal Department at A Homeowner Services Group Company is dynamic, rising to meet the evolving demands of internal clients on issues that impact our growing, national customer base. You will advise executives and decision makers who are driven by a desire to protect customers, even when homeownership poses stressful challenges.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the lead lawyer for Marketing and Operations functions, which handles, among other things, customer complaints and litigation, claims management, consumer protection, commercial disputes, regulatory matters, customer terms and conditions, and government relations
- Will support lead Marketing and Operations counsel on marketing related research and best practices to comply with various consumer protection laws and regulations across the country
- Will assist legal team with various projects related to creating efficiencies in third party service provider onboarding and management
- Oversee the discovery process, including producing documents, responding to interrogatories, and managing e-discovery
- Participate in depositions, court hearings, and potentially trial proceedings
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement effective case strategies
- Keep internal clients informed about case progress and provide legal advice

Experience and Qualifications of the Role:
- Minimum 3 (preferably 3-5) years of law firm or in-house experience. Litigation experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record of effectively spotting legal issues and determining practical, workable options for resolving them.
- Demonstrated capability of managing a multiple cases and diverse competing priorities effectively while meeting deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with key internal stakeholders, clients, judges, and opposing counsel, etc
- Strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex legal issues.
- Attention to detail.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Juris Doctor required
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois or New Jersey
