Description:
Summary:Burr & Forman is seeking an Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join our General Commercial Litigation practice in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be based in Charleston/Daniel Island, although candidates in Greenville or Columbia will also be considered. The associate will work on a diverse range of commercial litigation and health care litigation matters and will gain hands on experience across all stages of a case. This is an opportunity to join a busy and growing litigation practice, work closely with and learn from experienced partners, and take on increasing responsibility as their skills develop.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of litigation experience
- Admission to the South Carolina Bar and based in South Carolina
- Experience discovery, motion practice, and preparing for depositions
- Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
- Ability to manage assignments effectively with moderate supervision
- Strong judgment, initiative, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel within South Carolina for depositions, mediations, and other case-related matters
Preferred Experience:
- Experience taking depositions and arguing motions
- Medical malpractice and/or skilled nursing litigation experience
- Trial experience is a plus but is not required
