Associate Intake Attorney

Our firm is growing, and we're looking for an Associate Intake Attorney who combines sharp legal instincts with genuine empathy for people facing difficult moments. This role sits at the front line of our practice — where strategy, client care, and case evaluation intersect.

Responsibilities of Our Associate Intake Attorney

Case Evaluation & Legal Analysis
  • Assess case merits, liability, damages, and legal viability
  • Identify key legal issues, deadlines, and risks
  • Analyze documentation, including contracts, medical records, employment files, or incident reports
  • Make informed recommendations regarding acceptance or declination of matters
  • Provide preliminary legal advice consistent with firm policies

Case Development & Strategy

  • Spot evidentiary needs and recommend next investigative steps
  • Outline potential claims, defenses, and legal theories
  • Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on strategy for accepted cases
  • Prepare case summaries and risk assessments for internal review

Documentation & Compliance

  • Draft engagement letters, retainer agreements, and declination letters
  • Maintain thorough, accurate intake notes and client records
  • Ensure conflicts checks are completed and documented
  • Track statutes of limitations and other critical deadlines
  • Maintain compliance with ethical and confidentiality requirements

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Manage a high volume of consultations efficiently
  • Use case management and CRM systems to document and track leads
  • Coordinate with intake staff, paralegals, and attorneys for case transfers
  • Assist in improving intake workflows and procedures

Preferred/Required Qualifications of Our Associate Intake Attorney

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active bar license in good standing
  • 1–4+ years of litigation, plaintiff-side, or client-facing legal experience preferred
  • Strong issue-spotting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and listening abilities
  • Confident, empathetic, and professional demeanor
  • Organized with strong documentation habits
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of consultations
