Rawle & Henderson's New York City office is seeking an Attorney with 2-5 years of insurance defense, construction, and medical malpractice experience to join its insurance defense practice. Insurance Coverage experience is not required, but would be preferred.

Candidates must be admitted to practice in NY, have strong attention to detail, and excellent research and writing skills.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits including medical, dental, and 401K. We are seeking a full-time employee but will consider qualified part-time candidates.

Duties:
  • Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense litigation matters, including personal injury claims, employment disputes, and contractual issues.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and legal motions.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.
  • Prepare for and participate in court depositions, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive case management records, ensuring all documentation complies with procedural laws and internal standards.
  • Communicate proactively with clients, insurance carriers, witnesses, and opposing counsel to facilitate case resolution.
  • Strong legal research skills using LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms.
  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills for motions, briefs, contracts, and pleadings.
  • Skilled in trial preparation including court depositions and courtroom advocacy.
  • Knowledge of procedural laws governing litigation processes across various jurisdictions.
  • Effective negotiation abilities to achieve favorable case outcomes for clients.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software and administrative practices within a law office setting.
  • Exceptional client communication skills to explain complex legal concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Experience handling employment law cases or related practice areas is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
