Description:

Wood & Wood, P.A. is looking for an experienced attorney to join our small, established insurance defense firm. Our practice primarily consists of personal injury defense involving motor vehicle accident claims, as well as related property damage matters. We are looking for an established attorney who can independently manage a caseload, handle court appearances and depositions, and work directly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.

This position is best suited for an attorney with several years of litigation experience who is comfortable handling cases with limited supervision. This is an in-person position working closely with our senior attorney and a small, experienced legal team.

Responsibilities:

Handle personal injury and automobile accident defense matters, with occasional property damage claims.
Manage cases through all phases of litigation.
Take and defend depositions and appear at hearings and other court proceedings.
Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and insurance representatives.
Work closely with the senior attorney on case strategy and significant case matters.
Manage deadlines and maintain an organized caseload.
Travel to surrounding counties for hearings, depositions, and other case-related matters as needed.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Member in good standing of The Florida Bar.
3–5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or personal injury defense.
Experience handling automobile accident cases preferred.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload.
Professional, dependable, and comfortable working directly with clients.
Willingness to work in person at our office and travel to surrounding counties as needed.
