Description:

Mesa Law PLLC seeks an entry–mid level Associate to handle removal defense and family-based matters. You'll appear in EOIR (Boston/Chelmsford), prepare and file family and humanitarian applications with USCIS/CBP/DOS, draft motions and briefs, and work closely with the Managing Partner for training and case strategy.

This position is ideal for attorneys who want to practice immigration law at a high level of excellence while working in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file applications with USCIS, CBP, and DOS (AOS, IV, I-130/I-485, I-765/I-131, I-601/601A, I-212, I-751, N-400, FOIAs, etc.).
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings (master and individual hearings), including bond; draft motions, briefs, and evidence packets for EOIR/BIA.
  • Handle humanitarian matters (VAWA, asylum/withholding/CAT, U/T visas, SIJS as applicable).
  • Communicate with clients with clarity and compassion; manage case strategy and timelines.
  • Work within document management and case-tracking software (e.g., MyCase or comparable systems) to manage tasks, deadlines, and client records, in coordination with our virtual operations team.

Qualifications:
  • Bar admission with willingness and ability to appear before EOIR in Boston or Chelmsford, either in-person or virtually.
  • 2–6 years of immigration law experience (clinics/externships count if substantive).
  • Strong legal research, brief-writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with both in-office and virtual teams.
  • Client-first mindset;

Preferred:
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish (or Portuguese).
  • Prior removal defense representation.
  • Familiarity with MyCase (or comparable CMS) and evidence-heavy case preparation.
  • NH bar admission with interest in family law and SIJ cases.

Work Setup
  • Based in Greater Manchester NH, with hybrid flexibility (e.g., three days on-site).
  • Regular appearances at Boston and / or Chelmsford Immigration Court, with some travel as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: $80,000–$100,000 (depends on experience), with potential performance-based bonuses.
