About the role:We are seeking a dedicated Associate Immigration Attorney to join our team. The Associate Attorney is responsible for managing legal matters, providing legal advice, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in Immigration court, hearings, and USCIS Interviews. This role will focus on Removal defense, while also handling a standard caseload of family-based, and affirmative asylum cases. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cases while delivering high-quality client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a varied caseload of family-based immigration, asylum cases.
- Litigate bond and removal cases before immigration courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
- Provide legal advice and strategy to clients.
- Draft motions, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents for litigation and administrative proceedings.
- Communicate regularly with clients and work closely with clients to develop legal strategies tailored to their unique situations.
- Stay updated on evolving immigration laws, litigation trends, and agency policies.
- Manage a caseload independently while collaborating with attorneys and support staff.
- Oversee work performed by Paralegals and Legal Assistants assigned to Attorneys cases.
- Conduct legal research and analyze laws, regulations, case law, and legal precedents.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures, deadlines, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and billing records.
- Participate in firm meetings, training, and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in any state and in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in immigration law.
- Experience in removal defense is strongly preferred.
- Experience with USCIS cases is strongly preferred.
- Experience with business and talent visas is a plus.
- Strong writing and advocacy skills for drafting complex legal documents.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required.
