This position is ideal for an attorney who is passionate about advocacy and committed to providing exceptional legal representation. The attorney will manage a diverse and rewarding caseload involving removal defense, asylum, family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, and citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and litigate removal defense and asylum matters before EOIR and the BIA
- Prepare, review, and file employment- and family-based immigration petitions and applications
- Prepare responses to Requests for Evidence, legal briefs, motions, and other submissions to USCIS, DOS, EOIR, and the BIA
- Conduct client consultations, evaluate immigration options, and provide clear legal advice
- Research complex immigration issues and develop legal strategies based on current laws, regulations, and agency policies
- Clearly communicate potential risks, available options, and anticipated outcomes to clients
- Represent clients at USCIS interviews and in EOIR proceedings
- Review and analyze client documentation to ensure filing requirements and evidentiary standards are met
- Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and administrative staff to manage cases, monitor deadlines, and maintain effective client communication
- Assist with reasonable case-related administrative responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active admission and good standing with the bar of any U.S. state or the District of Columbia
- Minimum of two years of immigration law experience
- Excellent legal research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage cases independently while working effectively as part of a team
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Spanish, Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi, or another language is preferred
