Clyde & Co US LLP seeks an associate to join our growing Seattle office. This practice covers a wide range of liability and insurance challenges in matters involving insurance coverage and bad faith, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, UIM defense, premises liability, trucking/transportation claims and employment and property disputes.Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
- Take depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required.
- Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs.
- Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis.
- Draft discovery requests and discovery responses.
- Review and analyze documents and materials for production.
- Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies.
- Actively and effectively report to our insurance carrier clients and insureds.
- Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation.
- Is admitted to practice in Washington state.
- Has civil litigation experience.
- Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Has strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
- Has effective problem-solving skills.
- Has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
