Summary:Baptist Health seeks an attorney to join its legal department as Associate General Counsel – Regulatory & Transactions. The Associate General Counsel – Regulatory & Transactions will provide and coordinate legal services for the health system on a variety of legal issues and matters, with a primary focus on regulatory and transactional matters; fraud and abuse laws; compliance program support and related issues; privacy and security; reimbursements and audits; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; employment agreements; independent contractor agreements; physician-hospital agreements; real estate; and related matters. In addition, the position will provide general support to Baptist Health's legal needs, including but not limited to: purchase contracts; legal research; patient care issues; educating system personnel on legal and compliance matters; and monitoring laws and legal developments that impact Baptist Health. This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer of the system and will collaborate with peers to support Baptist Health's healing ministry.
Other Information:
Applicants must have a law degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the state of Arkansas. Five (5) years of experience preferred in the practice of law and legal experience in health and transaction law. A strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal and writing skills, experience drafting and negotiating agreements, the ability numerous complex legal projects, and a commitment to the Baptist Health mission are essential.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
