The Role:
Reporting to CCC's General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel will lead the company's legal support of all phases of the product development and commercialization life cycle for the company's SaaS, AI, and data analytics products. The AGC will be responsible for ensuring that the company's products and services comply with all applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations and industry standards. Alongside other members of the legal team, the AGC will address topics relating to the product lifecycle, such as regulatory compliance, third-party risk management, data rights, privacy, marketing, and intellectual property in support of CCC's growth as a global SaaS provider. This individual will work closely with the Chief Product Officer, their team, and senior management across the enterprise in the efficient delivery of top-tier product related legal services.

  • Provide practical, timely, strategic, and high-quality legal advice and counsel on the development and commercialization of global SaaS, AI, and data-related products and services, with a primary focus on the North American market.
  • Review product releases for compliance and risk mitigation and collaborate and coordinate with key stakeholders to advise on applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines affecting the business.
  • Advise on potential liability and other legal aspects related to the commercialization of CCC's products.
  • Implement an intellectual property strategy in alignment with the company's long-term strategies and technology roadmaps, including working with business and technical leaders to maximize competitive advantage through intellectual property and ensure that the businesses always respect the rights of others.
  • Provide robust legal support in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating product related terms in customer agreements.
  • Craft, maintain, and implement policies, procedures, and controls around CCC's products and services in alignment with laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and company policies.
  • Maintain and apply a strong knowledge of evolving policies, regulations, and litigation applicable to CCC's business, with an eye toward effective risk mitigation and successful product commercialization.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Privacy Officer and CISO in protection of data within CCC's products and services.
  • Support international expansion of the company's business.
  • Assist with due diligence in M&A.
  • Manage relevant outside counsel within budgetary guidelines to obtain desired results

Requirements:
  • J.D. degree and licensed to practice law in Illinois or the appropriate jurisdiction.
  • At least 15 to 20 years of overall practical legal experience, primarily in support of SaaS, AI, and datarelated products, with preferably some portion in an in-house environment.
  • Technical knowledge in SaaS, AI, and data product lifecycle support with superior knowledge, skills, and experience in regulatory related matters, as well as strong operational and business process management.
  • Proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills; able to quickly execute strategic decisions to drive organizational results.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills at all levels within an organization, including the C-Suite level, including the ability to translate technical content into business understandable terms and successful market-facing presentation skills.
