Description:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:- Lead and manage significant litigation, arbitration, government investigations, regulatory inquiries, and enforcement matters in the United States and internationally. Provide practical, risk-based legal advice to senior legal and business leaders regarding complex disputes, investigations, enforcement exposure, and related reputational risk.
- Independently prepare litigation and enforcement risk assessments. Develop, recommend, and execute legal strategies that protect Danaher's interests, mitigate risk, and support the company's strategic objectives.
- Manage responses to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, requests for information, and other compulsory or voluntary government submissions. Represent Danaher in interactions with government enforcement and regulatory authorities, or direct outside counsel in those interactions.
- Direct and oversee outside counsel, experts, and service providers, ensuring quality, efficiency and accountability.
- Champion the responsible use of technology, analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve litigation strategy, workflow efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and matter outcomes. Stay abreast of relevant legal trends and developments and communicate to promote learning and continuous improvement for the Danaher legal organization.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant legal experience, including substantial experience handling complex litigation, government investigations, internal investigations, and regulatory matters.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
- Experience in a leading law firm, government enforcement agency, prosecutor's office, or comparable role.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
25-30% travel
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in the life sciences, healthcare, medical technology, or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
- Prior inhouse legal experience at a global public company is a plus but not a requirement.
