Meta's Employment Law group is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment to provide advice and counsel to, and strategically manage employment law litigation for, client groups within Meta's various business organizations. Our ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to work extended hours, across different time zones when necessary. - Provide counseling and support to HR Business Partners, Employee Relations Business Partners, and the business on employee terminations, performance management, investigations, accommodations, compensation, reorganizations and other employment-related matters
- Collaborate with other attorneys on the team with respect to advice and counseling provided to HR and other cross-functional partners
- Coordinate and manage employment related projects, including internal process reviews and program roll-outs and implementation
- Draft and edit employment-related documents, correspondence, agreements and processes
- Manage legal risks and provide solutions for resolving employment disputes
- Participate in the creation and delivery of trainings related to employment law matters, such as harassment training and other manager trainings on a variety of topics
- Manage and drive strategy on pre-litigation and litigation matters
Minimum Qualifications:
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
- 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
- 8+ years of experience in labor and employment law
- Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
- Experience with state and federal employment law and advising and counseling clients on such laws
- Employment litigation experience and experience coordinating and driving to completion large-scale projects
- Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tech company experience
- M&A diligence
- Familiarity with California and New York employment law
- In-house legal department experience
