A successful applicant can expect primary duties and responsibilities to include:
  • Contract Management: You are an integral part of the team that reviews, negotiates and manages commercial contracts. This requires a general understanding of commercial and legal risks and reasonably acceptable means of risk mitigation.  These responsibilities may require customer facing interaction which will require interpersonal skills commensurate with representing the company externally.
  • Corporate Governance: You are a corporate governance practitioner who is detail oriented to ensure governance formalities both at board level and regulatory licensing interactions are correctly and timely completed.
  • Commercial Insurance: You have a general understanding of corporate responsibilities related to commercial insurance including understanding of types of insurance, and certificate of insurance practice and will be responsible for obtaining and delivering certificates to stakeholders.
  • Communications: You are adept at communication both in writing and speech. You will be expected to communicate legal and regulatory obligations in a way that operations and other non-legal personnel will understand and clearly express what actions are needed and why.
  • Real Estate: Document and manage/support real estate transactions.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
  • Travel as needed (any travel would be anticipated as infrequent).

Education/Experience:
  • 3+ years legal training in commercial matters or related legal or regulatory oriented experience required.
  • Law school credentials highly preferred but not required.
  • Paralegal credentials with commercial contracts experience highly preferred but not required.
  • Notary credentials or the ability to obtain them is preferred.
  • Experience with commercial real estate transactions is helpful.
  • Experience with M&A activity is helpful.

Organizational Framework:
  • This position reports to the General Counsel and has no direct reports.
  • Advises, consults, and coordinates with:
    • Executive Management
    • Operations Management
    • Sales Personnel
    • HR, Finance, and Other Internal Departments

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
  • Working environment is in an office setting and repair/manufacturing shop.
  • Extended time on a computer, phone, and sitting.
