We are seeking an experienced and versatile Associate General Counsel to join our growing legal team. This is a high-impact role for a lawyer who thrives at the intersection of insurance regulation, securities law, and corporate governance. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board, shape our regulatory strategy, and help build a legal function that scales with the business. The ideal candidate combines deep subject-matter expertise with sound business judgment — someone who doesn't just flag risk, but delivers practical, risk-adjusted solutions.

What You'll Do:
Regulatory & Compliance Counsel

Provide strategic legal and regulatory guidance on state admitted and non-admitted insurance carrier matters, including licensing, market conduct, rate and form filings, and multistate regulatory issues
Advise on compliance with federal securities laws, including public company reporting obligations, disclosure matters, and related SEC requirements
Help develop and execute regulatory outreach strategies and author thought leadership pieces that position the company as a credible voice with regulators and in the industry

Corporate Governance
Support the Corporate Secretary on all matters related to Board and Board Committee operations, including meeting materials, governance policies, and corporate records

Leadership & Operational Excellence

Identify, design, and implement department-wide process improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and organizational effectiveness
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth

What We're Looking For:
Professional qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing
15–20 years of legal experience, ideally blending top-tier law firm training with in-house experience at a public company or highly regulated industry
Deep experience in insurance regulation (admitted and non-admitted markets strongly preferred) and/or federal securities law
Preferred background: public company advisory, regulated industries — with particular interest in insurance, privacy/cybersecurity, and emerging AI regulation
