Description:
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities- Provide contract drafting, review and approval, as assigned.
- Provide review, approval, documentation, and coordination of copyright/trademark matters.
- Coordinate organization of legal matters, documentation and systems as assigned.
- Provide internal leadership in litigation, legislative/regulatory, policy development and implementation, corporate governance, ethics complaints and other matters as directed by the General Counsel.
- Create and present internal legal training to ACEP employees.
- Serve as staff liaison to the By laws Committee.
- Acts as direct supervisor to Legal Assistant.
- Attend business and educational meetings as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence and licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
- Ten years of legal experience, including contract drafting and corporate governance.
- Attention to detail; written and oral communication skills; handling client/member requests and issues.
- Organizing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously without close supervision.
Other Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with contract law, intellectual property matters, association law, nonprofit law, litigation, legislative/regulatory issues, risk management, and employment law.
- Ability to work well with others and handle challenges in a positive manner.
- Experience supervising outside counsel and in dealing with legal counsel and senior management of outside entities.
- Experience supervising legal department staff.
