Overview:We are seeking a Junior Attorney to join our team and support a broad range of real estate and landlord–tenant matters. The ideal candidate will be barred in Maryland, have at least one year of legal experience, and some exposure to landlord–tenant issues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career and work directly for an experienced General Counsel who values mentorship and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Landlord/tenant matters, commercial vendor agreements
- Review and evaluate easement requests & boundary line disputes
- Manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Respond to violation notices and compliance issues
- Conduct lease review and analysis for various jurisdictions
- Evaluate fair housing issues, appear before rent control boards, draft leases and related documents
- Stay abreast of pertinent laws in various jurisdictions.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member of the Maryland Bar.
- Minimum of 1 year of legal experience.
- Exposure to real estate - specifically landlord–tenant issues strongly preferred, manufactured housing experience a plus
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
