Job Summary:
This position will perform critical legal functions on behalf of its family of world-class consumer product companies that compete in the global marketplace.

The General Counsel's office is a fast-paced environment that addresses many areas of the law. We are seeking a candidate with significant experience in any of the following areas: global consumer products companies, commercial contracts, real estate, corporate governance, merger and acquisitions, intellectual property, products liability and risk management, litigation, and international affairs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel on wide variety of legal matters affecting global consumer products companies.
  • Must have sufficient experience to exercise independent judgment but also enjoy working as part of a very collaborative team.
  • Daily interaction with business team members is required, so good communication skills are a must, including the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers.
  • Will assist in supervising a group of accomplished paralegals, working cooperatively as a team.
  • Manage outside counsel to successful results on time and on budget.

Qualification Requirements:
  • J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • License to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction, Georgia preferred
  • 5+ years' legal experience in areas relevant to consumer products companies
  • Some domestic and international travel required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be a self-motivated team player, capable of working with small groups or independently. Accountability and integrity are critical traits.
  • Excellent attention-to-detail, project management, written/verbal communication, organizational and prioritization skills are musts.
  • Willingness to work long hours as needs of projects dictate. The ability to meet deadlines and monitor budgets is crucial.
