Opportunity Overview:
Our Legal Division is expanding to enhance solutions for millions of clients and their families. We are looking for an attorney experienced in emerging technologies to partner with business leaders enterprise-wide to provide legal support and consultation that creates conditions for responsible adoption of digital innovations.

The work is dynamic and requires the ability to look beyond the specific legal questions to understand the goals of the firm and aid in getting to the best solution. This role will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to be a part of a culture that inspires and supports the individual and allows them to be part of a team focused on delivering solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience partnering organization-wide to responsibly adopt emerging technologies and digital approaches that fundamentally change the way it operates. In addition, experience working with external partners and vendors is helpful. Strong relationship skills is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Enable the firm to explore innovative ways to serve clients by providing legal and strategic advice on advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence
Serve as the trusted legal and strategy advisor to enterprise efforts to responsibly adopt emerging technologies by providing thought leadership on the legal implications of digital solutions
Provide practical advice on deployment of advanced technologies, including how to implement safeguards, train associates on risks, and align with evolving laws and regulations
Stay abreast of changes in the legal technology industry, including by building and/or maintaining an active presence and consult business colleagues on those changes and how they impact the firm's approach to technology

Skills/Requirements

Requires Juris Doctorate and license to practice in Missouri or an equivalent state
Requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibility as an attorney in private practice, in the public sector, or in an in-house counsel capacity
At least three years' experience serving as legal and strategy advisor for emerging technology initiatives
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to delegate and mentor, and desire to work collaboratively with others
