An Investment Management Company's Office of the General Counsel addresses a wide range of complex and compelling legal and compliance issues. To continue to support its growing business, An Investment Management Company is seeking an attorney in its Enterprise Legal Services Team to support the organization's antitrust-related efforts and liaise across the enterprise on managing antitrust risks.

In this role you will:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and provide strategic leadership and positioning on An Investment Management Company's antitrust and competition-related issues. Work closely with other senior leaders in OGC to shape An Investment Management Company's antitrust compliance program and strategy. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders to develop and advance such strategies and activities.
  • Provide business leaders with antitrust related legal advice, training and counseling, and ensure compliance with policies and practices.
  • Support An Investment Management Company's response to government reviews regarding mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures and to proposed regulations.
  • Represent the organization in complex, controversial, significant, or specialized legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities so the organization's interests are protected.
  • Where appropriate, select outside counsel to represent An Investment Management Company and manage, coordinate, oversee and supervise the work being performed by such outside counsel; and review and evaluate outside counsel invoices.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in antitrust law, An Investment Management Company's business and products, and the asset management industry. Stay abreast of industry and regulatory developments affecting An Investment Management Company, and maintain affiliations with relevant industry, compliance, and risk associations.
  • Demonstrate judgment, creativity and technical expertise, breadth of vision and initiative, commitment and accomplishment, communication skills, and leadership in a manner expected of role models and leaders of the Office of the General Counsel.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What It Takes:
  • Minimum ten years related legal work experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Law degree (JD) required.
  • Demonstrated persuasion and influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to balance business and legal needs and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistent track record of success serving and navigating relationships with internal and/or external parties, including influencing, counseling and negotiating with others.
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, navigate, persuade and build agreement across senior leaders and/or a matrix structure.
