As a member of our Sector legal team, you will collaborate with leaders across the department, business leadership, and broader enterprise organizations to advise on and shape Booz Allen's federal and state policy initiatives across the defense technology, procurement reform, cybersecurity, export controls, and AI regulation space.

This is a strategy-focused role that combines deep regulatory expertise with business acumen to respond to and advance the company's priorities while continuing to push for generational shifts in the federal procurement landscape. You will partner closely with Booz Allen's Government Relations team, Contracts Management team, Global Supply Chain team, market facing attorneys, product counsel, intellectual property team, and trade compliance team to anticipate emerging risks and opportunities that affect Booz Allen's business. You'll anticipate business needs and develop practical solutions with agility and action. You'll establish trusted partnerships across the company and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics and Compliance team to protect and advance the company while navigating the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal and compliance risks we face today. This will include helping respond to, synthesize, and adapt to new acquisition reform executive and legislative policy initiatives while also envisioning the landscape necessary to enable our growth objectives. Guided by Booz Allen's purpose and values, together we'll anticipate and proactively prepare for the issues we'll encounter tomorrow. This position is located in McLean, VA. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

8+ years of experience with legal and public policy, including in federal defense policy, government procurement law, or technology regulation
Experience partnering closely with operational teams and business leaders to develop comprehensive strategies and approaches to acquisition, contracting, and government accounting policy campaigns and advocacy materials
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to proactively identify, assess, and advise on initiative risk profiles, and design and implement practical legal and operational mitigation strategies or approaches
Knowledge of federal acquisition and procurement, including a broad range of contracting paths, including FAR, DFARS, OTAs, or Marketplaces
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, quickly synthesize complex acquisition and regulatory issues, and succinctly communicate to legal leadership, executives, and generalist audiences
Ability to produce high quality white papers, presentations, and related materials under tight timelines
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative required to own multiple projects end-to-end, whether guiding policy campaigns or responding to unexpected regulatory or policy developments that may have an impact upon the company's business
J.D. degree
Active bar admission with any U.S. state bar

Nice If You Have:

Experience in-house in the defense, technology, or government sectors
Experience advising on AI governance or information security statutes, regulations, and compliance frameworks, including FISMA and NIST
Experience with engineering, software, defense technology systems, or other advanced technologies
Ability to demonstrate informed opinions on the acquisition reform landscape and creative ideas on how to streamline and advance our current systems
Excellent communication, analytical, writing, research, and presentation skills
