Mandy Hancock Law PLLC | Knoxville, Tennessee
Compensation: $60,000 annually + performance-based bonuses

Build Your Career. Make a Difference. Practice Law That Matters.
You didn't go to law school just to push paperwork.

You became an attorney because you wanted to advocate, solve problems, help people, and make a difference.

At Mandy Hancock Law PLLC, you'll have the opportunity to do exactly that.

We're looking for an Associate Family Law Attorney with 1–3 years of legal experience who is ready to grow into a confident, capable family law advocate.

This is an opportunity to develop your skills, gain meaningful experience, learn from experienced attorneys, and build a career in a practice where the work you do genuinely matters.

Family law can be challenging. It can also be incredibly rewarding.

Every day, you'll help clients navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives—and give them something they desperately need: clarity, guidance, and someone in their corner.

If you're eager to learn, ready to work hard, and want to become an excellent family law attorney, we want to meet you.

Why Mandy Hancock Law?
Your first few years as an attorney matter.

They're when you build the foundation for the lawyer—and the career—you want to become.

At Mandy Hancock Law, you won't be treated like someone who simply needs to “pay their dues.” You'll be part of a team that is invested in your development and committed to helping you become a stronger attorney.

Here, you'll find:
  • $60,000 annual salary + performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Hands-on experience in family law matters
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced attorneys
  • Opportunities to develop your courtroom, negotiation, research, and writing skills
  • A supportive team environment where questions are encouraged and learning is expected
  • Meaningful client interaction and relationship-building opportunities
  • A thoughtfully managed caseload focused on quality representation
  • Opportunities to take increasing ownership of your cases as your skills grow
  • A collaborative, professional, and respectful workplace
  • The opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing family law practice

Responsibilities:
The Opportunity:
This isn't a position where you'll spend your days sitting on the sidelines.

You'll be learning by doing.

You'll work alongside experienced attorneys while gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of family law matters—from initial client meetings and case preparation to negotiations, hearings, mediations, and, as your experience develops, trial work.

You'll have opportunities to develop your own legal judgment, strengthen your advocacy skills, and learn what it takes to successfully guide a client through a difficult legal situation.

Most importantly, you'll have people around you who want to see you succeed.

We know great attorneys aren't created overnight.

They're developed through experience, mentorship, challenge, feedback, and opportunity.

That's what we want to provide.

What You'll Do:
As an Associate Family Law Attorney, you will:
  • Assist with and manage family law matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, and post-decree issues
  • Conduct legal research and prepare thoughtful legal analysis
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Assist with case strategy and preparation
  • Participate in client consultations and communicate with clients throughout their cases
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, negotiations, and other proceedings
  • Develop negotiation and advocacy skills while working alongside experienced attorneys
  • Assist with trial preparation and gain courtroom experience
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals and other members of the legal team
  • Maintain organized case files and keep matters moving forward
  • Build trusted relationships with clients through clear, compassionate communication
  • Learn from feedback and continuously develop your legal skills
  • Contribute ideas that improve the client experience and the way the firm practices law

Qualifications:
What You'll Bring:
We're not looking for someone who knows everything.

We're looking for someone who is hungry to learn, willing to work, and committed to becoming exceptional.

You'll be a strong fit if you have:
  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • An active license and membership in good standing with the Tennessee Bar
  • 1–3 years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to family law
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • A willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback
  • Sound judgment and professionalism
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Confidence balanced with humility—you know what you know, and you're not afraid to ask questions when you don't
  • Genuine empathy for clients facing difficult circumstances
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to doing excellent work
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to collaborate
