We are currently seeking a Litigation Attorney with a strong background in family law to join our growing legal team. - Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs with precision and diligence.
- Ensure litigation processes by preparing for trials, depositions, and hearings.
- Ensure every client receives a legal update every 21 days, at a minimum, from your legal team.
- Ensure to meet and enter all billable hours into the case management system concurrently.
- Respond to client and case-related phone calls and emails within twenty-four (24) business hours.
- Ensure verifying that each client has funds in trust before performing extensive work, and if not, to inform Accounting to request a replenishment immediately.
- Attend mandatory scrum meetings weekly.
- Strategize, execute, and complete assigned cases, and ensure all active cases have required tasks entered into case management system with assigned due dates before the weekly scrum meetings.
- Engage in negotiations on behalf of clients to reach favorable settlements.
- Manage the caseload so all cases are completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Review drafts from paralegals and provide comments within 24-48 hours to allow them to complete their tasks.
- Finally, your participation in marketing efforts for the Firm, such as networking opportunities and presentations, may be required.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience of civil litigation in family law.
- Eligible to Practice Law in Florida
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license and in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
- Superior research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Empathetic communicator with a client-first mindset.
- Familiarity with Florida state court rules and procedures.
- Bilingual (Spanish) required.
