Description:
Rudolf Smith, a law firm based in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a full-time associate criminal defense attorney to join our team. Our firm practices mainly in criminal defense, civil litigation, and family law.The associate in this position will be expected to handle an independent caseload and assist senior attorneys in matters primarily focused in criminal defense. The associate will be responsible for helping clients through all aspects of the litigation process, including, but not limited to, hearings, information and discovery gathering, and motion preparation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend court appearances, including hearings and trials.
- Court preparation, including drafting and preparing legal documents.
- Extensive client contact.
- Must be willing to travel as needed.
- Responsible for various assignments issued by senior attorneys.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 2-3 years experience practicing in criminal defense.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Member in good standing of the Massachusetts State Bar while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Skilled in legal research and writing.
- Knowledge of Spanish or other foreign language a plus.
