Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide legal support to the General Manager and other senior leaders.
  • Complimentary privileges within prescribed limits in accordance with the approved Comp Matrix
  • Assist in the implementation of compliance programs and monitor daily adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as primary legal contact for the property human resources department and provide information and advice relating to complex employment law and practices.
  • Perform legal research, draft position statements, and gather evidence for active litigation.
  • Negotiate and/or review commercial contracts, leases, and agreements with management concerning effectiveness and potential or actual problems.
  • Review and suggest updates to company policies, procedures and handbook as a means of reducing risk to the company.
  • Assist in the coordination of filings and other communications with certain state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Manage outside counsel as needed.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Human Resources on insurance claims and coordinator with outside counsel on risk matters.
  • Represent the company in legal matters.
  • Coordinate and prepare witnesses for arbitrations and agency investigations where appropriate.
  • Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports and other complex documents.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Law Degree from ABA approved law school/Member of Pennsylvania Bar.
  • 4-6 years' experience in the area of general transactional practice, with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements including, but not limited to, commercial lease agreements, agreements with general service providers and agreements with OEMs.
  • Exposure and general understanding of the following areas: Intellectual Property, Litigation and Litigation Management; Regulatory; Real Estate; Labor and Employment.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills; ability to lead a team as well as roll up your sleeves and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency with ability to work quickly on and prioritize a wide variety of projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with team members at all levels of the company.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with quick deadlines, multiple demands and the constantly shifting needs of very busy operating subsidiaries.
  • Handles detailed, complex concepts and problems, balances multiple tasks simultaneously, and makes rapid decisions regarding health and welfare issues.
  • Plans and meets deadlines. Maintains a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of executive management. Hours can be long and irregular, must possess the ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
