Summary:
The Associate Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, editing, and negotiating site specific and master collocation lease agreements and other wireless carrier related contracts, including amendments, letter agreements, services agreements and various other contracts related to the Company's business relationships with wireless carriers. The Associate Counsel will service the Company's various departments and advise on matters relating to wireless carrier related contracts and agreements and assist with matters ranging from defaults under contracts to novel business transactions. The Associate Counsel will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate turnaround of carrier related agreements and the achievement of the Lease Operation team's objectives and goals.

Job Functions:
  • Draft and prepare carrier contracts consistent with transaction information provided by Leasing and other Departments.
  • Draft, edit and negotiate carrier contracts consistent with industry and commercial standards.
  • Communicate diligently and professionally, via email and telephone, with external parties representing wireless carriers to negotiate and resolve outstanding matters and finalize agreements.
  • Represent the Company with the upmost professionalism, demonstrating a flexible and friendly attitude and approach towards resolving matters and negotiating transactions.
  • Advise the Company's various departments and personnel on carrier related matters for which they seek assistance and provide legal support and guidance.
  • Develop an understanding of the Company's vast library of contracts to advise the Company's various departments and personnel on past transactions, best practices, and the company's positions on existing and future transactions.
  • Manage and track open transactions and diligently.
  • Learn the functionality of the company's contract management software and assist with incorporating new agreements into the software's contract library.
  • Meet monthly, quarterly and annual target goals for contract generation and contract execution.

Supervise and manage team members in the Leasing Operations department

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Position will work directly from the corporate office with minimal travel.

Education and Experience:
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Florida or other state Bar admission required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in wireless communication sector
  • Proven ability to manage a team
  • Proficient user of Word, Excel and other MS Office suite products
  • Excellent client and vendor relationship skills
  • Ability to prioritize, time manage and multi-task with limited supervision and under firm deadlines
  • Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team
