A successful candidate will have a strong product counseling and transactional background and be hard-working, proactive, entrepreneurial and able to apply sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations. Regulatory background and prior experience in payments, credit/lending, or financial services is a plus.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal guidance on regulatory compliance and product development for payment services
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements for domestic and international financial products
- Develop innovative legal solutions for emerging financial technology challenges
- Collaborate across multiple business teams to support strategic initiatives
- Analyze and mitigate legal risks in new payment and credit product launches

As such, your day will be a blend of problem solving (both strategic and tactical) and collaborative legal support. You'll engage with cross-functional teams, diving deep into product development, analyzing regulatory frameworks, and crafting legal strategies that balance innovation with compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in transactional work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
- Experience working cross functionally across several teams
- Experience with financial services, payments or e-commerce
- Ability to demonstrate sound legal and business judgment even in ambiguous situations
