Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join HireRight's Contracts team and provide support drafting and negotiating various standard and non-standard commercial agreements with HireRight's customers, vendors, and strategic partners. This individual will work on a variety of matters in support of the organization's North American and expanding global business.

This position will report to the Managing Counsel and will be located in our Nashville HQ office downtown (hybrid 3 days in office).

Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate, draft, review, and finalize a range of commercial agreements, including services agreements, supplier agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, and license and subscription agreements
  • Address legal risk issues that stem from commercial agreements, including indemnification, liability limitation, privacy, data protection, and information security
  • Respond to inquiries regarding contract interpretation and compliance with internal company policies and procedures
  • As appropriate, coordinate with the Compliance Department for matters regarding compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Coordinate internal review by all affected stakeholders and obtain internal and external signatures in accordance with the company's approval and execution procedures
  • Collaborate with a diverse and dispersed team
  • Review Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and similar documents, and assist in providing responses
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce contract templates and support the overall administration, tracking, and analysis of contracting activity and compliance
  • Research and resolve contract disputes and problem resolution
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the business team as and when required

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to a state bar and in good standing
  • 4 or more years of relevant commercial contracting experience
  • Experience in the background screening industry and/or other regulated industry
  • Working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • Experience in handling complex contract drafting, reviews, and negotiation
  • Strong communication skills and team work ethic
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, and under pressure in handling multiple competing tasks simultaneously
