The Role:We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney (2+ years of experience) to join our team. You will handle all phases of litigation, from initial claim evaluation through resolution, working alongside seasoned partners in a collaborative and mentorship-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of defense matters.
- Conduct depositions, represent clients at hearings, and attend mediations.
- Draft persuasive pleadings, motions, and comprehensive legal evaluations.
- Analyze medical records and translate complex medical terminology into effective legal strategy.
- Maintain regular, high-level communication with clients and insurers.
Qualifications:
- Education/Bar: Juris Doctor (JD) and active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA). Admission to the Alaska, Oregon, or California Bar is a plus.
- Experience: 2+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience. Prior experience in maritime law or workers' compensation is preferred but not required.
- Skills: A basic understanding of medical terminology is preferred. Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills are essential.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw/LexisNexis) and case management software.
