About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join our growing team on a fully remote basis. The ideal candidate is a licensed attorney in both Kansas and Missouri with strong experience in civil litigation. This position focuses on hands-on case management, including discovery, motion practice, legal briefing, and occasional travel for depositions and court appearances as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, reviewing and producing documents, and preparing discovery-related motions.
  • Draft high-quality legal briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Prepare for and argue motions in state and federal courts (remotely where permitted).
  • Travel as required for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and occasional court hearings (travel is expected but not constant).
  • Collaborate with partners and other team members on case strategy and litigation planning.
  • Perform legal research and analysis on complex litigation matters.
  • Maintain organized case files and meet all court deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active and in-good-standing license to practice law in Kansas and Missouri.
  • Proven experience working remotely and collaborating effectively with a distributed team is required.
  • 1–5 years of relevant civil litigation experience (experience level flexible depending on overall qualifications).
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw/Lexis) and modern case management software.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting team and client expectations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for depositions and hearings.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in federal court litigation and/or specific practice areas (e.g., commercial, personal injury, employment, or insurance defense).
  • Prior experience arguing motions or taking depositions.
  • Comfort with remote court appearances via Zoom or similar platforms.

Pay
: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
