LS Carlson Law is growing, and we're looking for a talented Florida attorney who enjoys solving complex problems, advocating for clients, and working as part of a collaborative team. We handle a variety of dispute-based matters, primarily focused in the real estate field, including representing homeowners in HOA disputes. We have a strong focus on helping clients navigate real-world conflicts that often have a significant impact on their personal or business lives. Our attorneys also have opportunities to contribute to articles, educational content, and thought leadership initiatives that help shape conversations within our practice areas and build their professional reputations.

You'll work alongside attorneys who have helped establish and expand one of the nation's most recognized homeowner advocacy practices, gaining hands-on experience while developing meaningful subject matter expertise.

What You'll Do:
As an Associate Attorney, you will work closely with experienced attorneys who provide guidance, mentorship, and strategic support. You will manage matters through all stages of dispute resolution, from pre-litigation strategy and negotiation through litigation and trial preparation when necessary.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing matters from pre-litigation through resolution, including litigation when necessary.
Evaluating claims, analyzing liability and damages issues, and developing case strategies.
Drafting demand packages, settlement agreements, releases, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
Conducting legal research and preparing written analyses to support client advice and case strategy.
Communicating regularly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, risks, and expectations.
Negotiating settlements with opposing parties, insurance carriers, and counsel.
Participating in mediations, settlement conferences, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and assisting with trial preparation.
Appearing at hearings, case management conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and other court proceedings.
Collaborating with senior attorneys to evaluate risks, maximize case value, and identify opportunities for favorable resolution.
Managing litigation deadlines, court filings, procedural requirements, and case documentation.
Staying current on developments in Florida law and procedural rules affecting client matters.

Preferred Qualifications include:

Must have at least 5+ years of civil litigation experience (5–7 years preferred).
Experience evaluating claims, assessing liability, and developing case or settlement strategies.
Experience handling discovery, law and motion practice, and court appearances.
Experience participating in mediations, settlement conferences, arbitrations, and other ADR proceedings.
Experience taking or defending depositions and preparing matters for trial.
Strong negotiation, legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
Excellent client communication and relationship management skills.
Ability to independently manage a caseload while collaborating effectively with a team.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
Sound judgment, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and strong client-relations skills.
A practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal problems.
Experience with, or an interest in learning, Florida homeowner association law.
Experience in real estate, business, administrative, personal injury, or family law is a plus.
