Description:

Jones Foster is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Probate / Trusts & Estates Litigation Practice Group in West Palm Beach. This is a great opportunity for an attorney who wants to develop their litigation skills and build a practice while working closely with experienced trial attorneys on a variety of complex trust, estate, and fiduciary disputes.

The Role:
You will handle a range of contested trust and estate matters, including will and trust contests, fiduciary disputes, accounting actions, elective share proceedings, trust reformation and modification matters, and contested guardianships. The position offers the opportunity to be actively involved in cases from beginning to end, including drafting pleadings and motions, handling discovery, preparing for hearings and trial, communicating with clients, and appearing in court. You will work closely with attorneys and other members of the practice group while taking on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.

What You'll Do:
  • Handle all phases of litigation — pleadings, legal research, written and electronic discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, evidentiary hearings, and trials.
  • Develop case strategy alongside senior attorneys and carry your own matters forward independently as you grow.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive and pre-trial motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and mediation statements.
  • Manage discovery from start to finish, including e-discovery production and review.
  • Investigate the facts, interview witnesses and experts.
  • Advocate in court and at mediation.
  • Direct and mentor paralegals and legal assistants on your matters.

What We're Looking For:
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, with a strong academic record.
  • Active membership in good standing in The Florida Bar with no disciplinary history.
  • One to three years of litigation experience: trust and estate litigation experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, research, and analytical skills.
