Position Summary:Montgomery Steele is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing personal injury practice in Upland, California. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload of pre-litigation and litigation matters, work directly with clients, negotiate with insurance carriers, and assist in all phases of personal injury litigation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a personal injury caseload from intake through resolution.
- Conduct client consultations and maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status.
- Evaluate liability, damages, and insurance coverage issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and settlement demands.
- Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel.
- Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial strategy and presentation.
- Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case handling.
- Maintain compliance with all court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Qualifications:
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 1–5 years of personal injury experience preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Trial experience is a plus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters.
- Familiarity with California civil procedure and litigation practice.
- Experience using case management software and legal technology platforms.
