Shane Law, P.C. is a small and casual but rapidly growing and energetic plaintiff's personal injury and employment law firm with a caring and fun-loving team. Our office is currently seeking an in-person Associate Attorney for our Costa Mesa Office. Our ideal candidate is:

Additionally, Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensure to practice law in California and be in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • At least 1-4 years of pre-litigation and litigation experience in personal injury and/or employment law cases
  • At least 1-4 years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
  • Knowledge of the basics of day-to-day operations of a legal office
  • An understanding of personal injury and pre-litigation processes
  • An understanding of plaintiff's employment law and wage and hour claims
  • Excellent follow-through on all tasks
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational skills, be able to effectively prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

A detail-oriented approach to their work

Fluency in other languages (preferred but not required)

The Associate Attorney Position Duties Will Include But Are Not Limited To:
  • Drafting personal injury demand letters to liable third parties, and to first party's auto insurance companies under underinsured/uninsured motorist policies and medical payment provisions
  • Drafting demand letters to employers
  • Drafting summons and complaints
  • Drafting Motions and Oppositions (Compel, Quash, Limine, MSJ, etc.)
  • Preparing and serving demand packages
  • Drafting, responding, propounding, preparing, and serving discovery
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to build strong cases
  • Attend court appearances (remote and in-person as needed)
