Job Summary:Jafari Law and Mediation Office, a respected family law and divorce firm, is seeking a Part-time Associate Attorney to join our team at our Newport Beach Office . Our firm has been serving clients in Orange County and Los Angeles for over 20 years, providing compassionate legal representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and estate planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload of family law matters including divorce, custody, support modifications, and domestic violence restraining orders.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials with minimal supervision.
- Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents such as premarital agreements, marital settlement agreements, and estate planning instruments.
- Advise clients on complex family law matters including asset division, high-net-worth cases, and post-judgment enforcement.
- Conduct legal research and prepare tailored case strategies to optimize client outcomes.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel while managing administrative and case logistics.
- Ensure adherence to California family law procedures, court deadlines, and ethical guidelines.
- Mentor junior team members or legal staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Active California Bar license in good standing.
- Minimum 3–5 years of recent, relevant experience in family law.
- Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with the California Family Code and court systems.
- Ability to handle cases with autonomy and sound legal judgment.
