About the Job:Associate Attorney – Insurance Defense
Location: Tampa, FL (In-Office)

Salary: $85,000 - $130,000 (based on experience)
Hightower & Partners, an AV-rated insurance defense law firm, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney preferably with experience in bodily injury (BI) defense to join our growing Tampa office. Candidates with prior exposure to property damage (PD) cases or an interest in assisting with PD matters alongside BI work are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, in-office position. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload primarily focused on bodily injury defense, including auto negligence and general liability matters.
- Handle all aspects of litigation: written discovery, depositions, hearings, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Support the firm's property damage team as needed, including assisting with first-party property or FIGA-related cases.
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and correspondence.
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and billing requirements.
Qualifications:
- 1–5 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for bodily injury defense.
- Prior experience or familiarity with property damage and/or FIGA claims is a plus.
- Active license to practice law in Florida and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with law firm billing practices and time entry protocols.
- Ability to work independently, manage a high-volume caseload, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
