Howell, Buchan & Strong, Attorneys at Law, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our boutique civil litigation and administrative law practice in Tallahassee, Florida. We are looking for an ambitious, early-career attorney eager to dive headfirst into civil litigation. This position offers a rare opportunity to transition quickly from legal theory to courtroom practice. You will work directly with seasoned partners, taking on meaningful responsibilities from day one rather than just handling document review behind a desk.Key Responsibilities:
- Draft Pleadings: Prepare complaints, answers, motions, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct Discovery: Draft and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, and admissions.
- Courtroom Advocacy: Attend hearings, argue motions, and assist with trial preparation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active member in good standing with The Florida Bar (or pending results with a strong academic record).
- Experience: 0–3 years of experience in civil litigation, judicial clerkships, or intensive law school clinics.
- Skills: Exceptional legal writing, sharp analytical thinking, and strong interpersonal communication.
- Drive: A high degree of initiative, strong organizational habits, and a passion for oral advocacy.
