Job Description:
Responsibilities:
  • Investigate, analyze, strategize regarding complex litigation matters throughout the State of Michigan
  • Drafting complaints, dispositive motions, and settlement documents
  • Attending court hearings, including, but not limited to, motion hearings, pre-trial conferences, evidentiary hearings, and trials, throughout Michigan
  • Reviewing and responding to discovery requests, as well as propounding discovery and conducting depositions
  • Reviewing contested pleadings and drafting responses, replies, and/or motions
  • Investigating facts and legal issues to determine causes of action
  • Researching, analyzing, and interpreting sources of law such as statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances, case law, and other legal opinions
  • Negotiate transactions and related documents incident to the sale of real and personal property
  • Draft motions, orders, and other pleadings related to the administration and disposition of property; prepare closing documents; review and analysis of lease agreements, title policies, and other real estate documents.

  • Additional duties may be assigned

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Must be licensed in the State of Michigan and be an active and in good standing member of the State Bar of Michigan
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in litigation, business law, real estate, or secured transactions
  • Strong work ethic, excellent analytical skills, and high energy
  • Solid computer skills, including competence with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
