Job Overview:A Law Firm is seeking a highly qualified 2nd – 5th year associate to join its construction, surety, and commercial litigation law practice in Sarasota, Florida.
The firm is comprised of high-performing, creative, and dedicated lawyers. The position will provide opportunities for rapid professional development and experience, working directly with senior members of the firm.
Candidates should have a desire to participate in and add value to all phases of a matter from pre-litigation through settlement or trial and to operate as a team member with delegated responsibilities critical to the firm's success. Demonstrated prior experience in the various stages of litigation matters and meaningful responsibility are important considerations for this position. Qualified candidates will have experience in conducting discovery, performing meaningful and thoughtful in-depth research, drafting pleadings and motions, witness preparation, and taking / defending depositions.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts with precision and attention to detail.
- Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations, effectively litigating on their behalf.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on case progress and answer any inquiries.
- Assist in managing case files and documentation within the law office.
Experience:
At least 2 years of litigation experience is required. Clerkship experience is highly preferred.
Candidates should be enterprising and tenacious, with a primary desire to become a trial lawyer and a willingness to do work necessary to achieve that goal. Qualifications and experience demonstrating such interest, desire, and ability are paramount considerations.
