Purdy Bailey LLP is a San Diego law firm handling sophisticated business and commercial disputes. We're growing, and we're looking to add a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to our team. This is a great opportunity for a litigator who wants to do more than simply support cases — someone ready to take on meaningful responsibility, sharpen their advocacy skills, and play an important role in complex litigation.Responsibilities:
- Managing and moving cases forward under the guidance of experienced litigators
- Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
- Reviewing and developing evidence
- Conducting legal research and developing case strategy
- Taking and defending depositions and participating in hearings as experience allows
- Communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
- Contributing to case strategy and exercising sound, independent judgment
Qualifications:
- Active membership in the California State Bar and good standing
- Approximately 3–5 years of litigation experience, ideally in business or commercial disputes
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Sound judgment and the ability to take ownership of meaningful responsibility
- A genuine interest in developing as an advocate
